The New Generation of Blue
Meet Lucia Field, the Australian children's entertainer, singer, dancer, and actress who captured hearts as the newest wearer of the blue skivvy for The Wiggles. Born in Sydney in 2004, Lucia represents a fresh face for a new generation of fans, yet her connection to the iconic group runs deeper than most.
A Family Legacy
That's because Lucia is the daughter of none other than Anthony Field, one of the original founding members of The Wiggles, famously known as the Blue Wiggle himself. Her mother is Miki Patisteas. Growing up, the Wiggles wasn't just a TV show for Lucia; it was a part of her everyday life.
Indeed, she was practically a Wiggles veteran before even hitting kindergarten! Lucia featured in numerous Wiggles music videos from a very young age. You can spot her as early as 2006, at just two years old, dancing along in their music video for 'Music Box Dancer'.
Beyond the Wiggles: A Ballerina's Path
But Lucia's performance journey wasn't solely focused on children's entertainment. She dedicated years to intense classical training, a testament to her versatile talent. At the age of thirteen, she earned acceptance into the prestigious Australian Ballet School—a dream for many aspiring dancers.
Her commitment to dance continued through her education. Lucia graduated from The McDonald College in 2021, having specialized in the classical ballet stream. This rigorous background honed her skills in movement, grace, and stage presence, preparing her for any performance challenge.
From Backup to Blue Skivvy
After years of childhood cameos in Wiggles' videos, Lucia began touring with the group as a backup dancer in 2021. It was a natural progression, allowing her to further immerse herself in the live performance experience. Then, in July 2022, she officially joined the main ensemble, taking on the cherished role of the secondary Blue Wiggle.
A New Voice, A New Lesson
As a member of The Wiggles, Lucia hasn't just continued the tradition; she's also introduced exciting new initiatives. One notable focus has been on teaching Greek to children. Her passion for cultural education blossomed into an album dedicated to this venture, released in 2025, alongside a full-length YouTube special.
Life Beyond the Stage
In her personal life, Lucia also shares her world with fellow performers. In 2024, she announced her relationship with Callum Hendry-Hodsdon, a talented dancer who also performs with The Wiggles. It seems the magic of performance truly binds her world, both on and off screen.
