Before settling in Spain, young Filip played for various teams including Mallorca, AD Penya Arrabal, Santa Catalina Atlético, Malmö FF, and GIF Nike Lomma. This diverse experience undoubtedly shaped his foundational skills and adaptability on the pitch.
Rising Through Villarreal's Ranks
In 2017, Jörgensen made a significant move, joining the highly regarded youth setup of Spanish club Villarreal. This proved to be a pivotal step in his development, as he began to truly establish himself as a promising goalkeeper.
His dedication paid off quickly, making his senior debut for Villarreal's B team in October 2020. This was a crucial milestone, providing him with valuable experience in competitive senior football, even at a lower division.
Just over a year later, in December 2021, Jörgensen earned his first taste of first-team action, coming on as a substitute in a dominant 7–1 Copa del Rey victory. This marked his official debut for Villarreal's main squad, a dream come true for any aspiring player.
The momentum continued into the 2022–23 season. After making his professional debut with the B-side in Spain's Segunda División, he ascended to the top flight, making his La Liga debut in January 2023. He was quickly assigned the coveted number 13 jersey, signifying his increasing importance.
